Phenotypic traits, together with speciation and extinction processes are fundamental to our understanding of evolution over long time scales (macroevolution). I use probabilistic models of trait and diversification dynamics on phylogenies as my main research tool. I am both interested in testing empirical macroevolutionary hypotheses, and in developing new methods and software that are designed for testing the hypotheses.
